The story was created by cutting up, remixing and re-narrativising fragments from various sources including the Sydney Morning Herald, transcripts from the trial of Slobodan Milosevic at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the Richard Burton translation of\u00a0<em>The Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night<\/em>. &#8216;Would be Disciplined&#8217;<em>\u00a0<\/em>was supported additionally by the Australia Council, Performance Space, Sydney, and the Institute of Advanced Studies at University of Western Australia, Perth. The story was written at UWA as part of a series of events to mark the culmination of Barbara Campbell\u2019s\u00a0<em>1001 Nights Cast<\/em>. A version of the story is also archived on the project&#8217;s website at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/1001.net.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/1001.net.au<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Published May 2009<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Tony White<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0is a writer and author of novels including\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Foxy-T<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0(Faber and Faber) and the non-fiction work\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Another Fool in the Balkans<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">. His most recently published work of fiction is\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Albertopolis Disparu<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0(Science Museum Booklet) &#8211; see\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/sciencemuseum.org.uk\/writer\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">http:\/\/sciencemuseum.org.uk\/writer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0. He co-edited the fiction anthology\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Croatian Nights\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">(Serpent\u2019s Tail\/VBZ) and edited the\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Brit-pulp<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0collection (Sceptre). Tony has edited and published the artists\u2019 book imprint Piece of Paper Press since 1994 and produced fiction in collaboration with visual arts and interdisciplinary projects by London Fieldworks, Bob and Roberta Smith, Alison Turnbull, Chris Dorley-Brown and others.\u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Balkanising Bloomsbury<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0has been supported by Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts, and by the Leverhulme Trust.
